ROTARY CLUB OF POINT WEST-SACRAMENTO (PWR-S)
Grants Awarded
The mission and objective of the Benevolent Giving Committee shall be to actively investigate, identify, and distribute grants to children’s benevolent organizations in the greater Sacramento Area consistent with the objectives and purpose of Point West Rotary. The committee may also consider requests from benevolent organizations other than those benefiting children and make appropriate recommendation to the Board of Directors for grants.
GUIDELINES
All grant awards and recommendations shall be done in accordance with guidelines and priorities that are established by the PWR-S Board of Directors and the BG Committee, using approved application and evaluation forms and procedures.
Grants for support of general operations (operating expenses) are not considered.
Definition of a children’s benevolent organization for the purpose of being considered for a PWR-S grant is any organization whose primary function is to benefit the health, education, welfare and safety of children which demonstrates a genuine financial need in those specific areas, and is without finances or resources to meet those specific needs.
PROCEDURES
The committee shall investigate grant requests; validate the need and appropriateness. Each award will be evaluated for it efficacious use of PWR-S benevolent funds.
All grant applications shall:
Be submitted following the BGC approved application form.
Be accompanied by the required documentation of charitable status.
Be reviewed and evaluated by assigned committee member(s), who shall complete the evaluation form in preparation for funding recommendations.
Have available a representative to respond to committee questions.
Be evaluated at the end of the grant period for the efficacious use of PWR-s Benevolent Funds.
And, the BGC shall report to the Board and membership on the entities that have applied for and received financial support.
